Orientation and Counselling

Starting from the 8th June 2009, the International Telematic University UNINETTUNO enriches its offer for the students with new guidance and counselling services.
 

Orientation Centre

The Guidance Centre for the Psychology Faculty aims at providing an accompanying area (for enrolled students as well as for those who are going to enrol) to tackle problems linked to the use of the computer-based system, to the creation of web-based learning groups and to organising study work as regard the different disciplines.

The Guidance Centre aims at:

  • Giving the student the possibility to exchange views with a professors of his Faculty who can give him some guidelines on how to organise his study work using the computer-based tools that are supplied by the University;
  • Creating a face-to-face listening centre that makes the transition towards a learning system that is based on self-monitoring and on the use of computer-based training tools easier;
  • Enabling the identification of strategies that are best suited to master the new learning environments and use the University resources at their best;
  • Promoting and enhancing the student’s individual skills in managing computer-based learning, accompanying him in a virtual visit to the courses and to the tools that he can use by himself;
  • Fostering motivation in study work by promoting the sense of belonging to social network including other university student mates by using the computer-based network.

Counselling Centre

 

The Counselling Centre Centre provides psychological counselling for the students of all Faculties that are facing emotional stressing situations arising from personal and/or relational difficulties. Counselling will be structured in a short set of interviews aimed at analysing the reasons for the reported difficulties.

The Counselling Centre aims at:

  • Giving the student the possibility to speak with a psychologist about the personal, relational and study difficulties he faces in his university training pathway;
  • Enabling him to identify the best suited strategies to face personal unease and the difficulties run into during his university experience;
  • Promoting and enhance the student’s autonomous capacities to manage university training;
  • Supporting the student in analysing his own study method enhancing the positive aspects and modifying the critical ones;
  • Helping the student to deal with the fear and anxiety caused by to face-to-face exams situations.
