    The National University Council (CUN) is an elective body representing the university system The CUN gives advices and makes proposals to the Ministry of Education, University and Research as it regards the following issues:
    a) Objectives of the university planning
    b) Criteria for the utilisation of the readjustment share of the ordinary university funding (Fondo di Finanziamento Ordinario - F.F.O.);
    c) General criteria for the university studies regulations as per art. 17, paragraph 95, of the Law of 15/05/1997 n.127;
    d) University didactic rules;
    e) Scientific-disciplinary sectors;
    f) Ministerial Decrees as per art. 17, paragraph.69 of the above-mentioned law n. 127/97;
    g) Any other issue that the Minister of Education, University and Research deems it advisable to be examined by the CUN.

    The CUN expresses a validity advice on the acts of the commissions as it regards the procedures established for recruiting full professors, associated professors and researchers, apart from the competences assigned to the CUN by specific laws. In addition, in its framework, a Discipline Panel operates having the task of executing the disciplinary measures taken against professors and university researchers.

    Official website of the Comitato Nazionale per la Valutazione del Sistema Universitario (CNVSU – National Committee for the Evaluation of the University System).
    The National Committee for the Evaluation of the University System is an institutional body of the Ministry of Education, University and Research having the task of: fixing the general criteria for evaluating universities’ activities; prepare an annual report on the evaluation of the university system; promote the experimentation, application and spreading of evaluation methodologies and practices; establish the nature of the information and data that the universities’ board of evaluation have to submit; carry on an annual programme of external evaluation of the universities or of specific educational structures; carry on technical evaluations as it regards proposal for new state and non-state university institutions in view of authorisation to the delivery of titles having legal values; prepare reports on the implementation state and on the results of the programming made; carry on studies and prepare documents on the state of university education, on the implementation of the right to study and on the access to university courses; prepare studies and documentation for the establishment of the criteria for allocating the readjustment share of the ordinary university funding; carry on, on behalf of the Ministry, advisory, preliminary, evaluation activities, standards, parameters and technical rules identification activities, also as it regards universities’ specific initiatives and also projects and proposals made by the universities themselves. The Committee is an independent body which autonomously interacts with the universities and with the Ministry; he disposes of a technical-administrative secretariat, of a specific expenditure head within the Ministry budget and can entrust to experts’ teams, agencies or specialised companies the preparation of research and study activities.
