DEN is a consulting and research SME with extensive experience in participating and co-ordinating national and international research and innovation projects. DEN main areas of activities are: project and program management; project communication and dissemination, socio-economic impact assessment of research and innovation initiatives; research on climate change mitigation, environmental issues such as transition to a lowcarbon society and the resilience of society; (Digital) Social Innovation, inclusion and non-discrimination, strategic consultancy on innovation of processes, use of ICT technologies and software technology transfer.

DEN research unit ‘Innovation Society and Social Capital’ which will be in charge of the socio-economic impact assessment activities has a long experience in the field, having developed and successfully tested methodologies and impact assessment toolkits for more than 10 horizon 2020 projects.

In its research activities, DEN adopts an interdisciplinary approach that combines and develops both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, following - when possible - the action-research principles. DEN is also in charge of dissemination and communication activities for several EC projects (e.g. iSCAPE, EUCalc, RAMSES, TESS), developing communication strategies adapted to specific target groups and using on-line and off-line tools, applying user experience and interaction design

Role in the Project

DEN will be in charge of the WP9 activities related to socio-economic impact assessment. In particular, DEN will take care of the following activities:

  • Develop an impact assessment methodology by adapting already existing and successfully tested approached to REBUILD specificities
  • Engage project partners and project beneficiaries in the methodology development in order to assure that all expected impacts will be mapped and described/measure as much as possible in the project time-life
  • Constantly monitoring project activities
  • Assess projects impacts to give input to the partners and provide a final impact assessment at the end of the project
  • Use the results of monitoring and impact assessment activities as input for supporting the dissemination activities of the project.
